Christmas Eve

Nate loves to see us getting ready for company. Today he knew something was up with all of my craziness. I didn't sit for one second. I'm paying for it now!

Tonight we had family over to enjoy each other and be mellow.

We heard a knock on our door. And guess who it was....Papa!!!! He came bearing presents. Nate was so excited to see him...we had just put on his "Papa's shirt". Papa gave him a scooter and it was enjoyed by all. Thank you, Papa.

Next to join us was Eddie, Jen, Gracie, and Luke. The twins look so much different from a year ago. Both of them had bells on their shoes and were ready to play. We were really excited to see them because we usually have to wait for Christmas Day to come. It was really nice to have the other Uribe Family over. Thank you Jen, Eddie, Gracie, and Luke.

Next was Aunt Bec, Hailey, Bianca, Brandon, and Nana. Wow! Brandon and Nate played so well together sharing the scooter from Papa. Bianca and Hailey were enjoying their time playing the Wii and playing with their cousins. Thank you, Aunt Bec, Hailey, Bianca, Brandon, and Nana.

Nate just fell asleep. It's almost 11:30, but he was still so excited that people were over. He kept saying every one's names. He did miss quite a few people who were unable to make it, but I'm sure he'll see them tomorrow.

Here is a picture of all of Nana's grandchildren...except 1, she's still in my tummy. This picture is exciting because all the kids are looking at the camera. What???? I know! I said the same thing myself when I put it on the computer. Which is the reason I had to create this post. Tomorrow or the next day I'll zoom in so you can see it better.

Sorry if this doesn't make any sense. I'm very tired and losing it!

Love to all. And a very Merry Christmas. We hope to see everyone tomorrow or in the New Year.

Baby Girl due May!!!

What is baby #2?

We had our ultrasound on Friday the 12th, week 18 of our pregnancy, and found out we are having a GIRL. We got to see a face shot of the baby, her hand above her head, her hand on her chin, her yawning, playing with her tongue, her ear, and so much more. She is very active, not like Nathan. Nathan was very quiet during my pregnancy with him. He never really moved in the ultrasounds. When they said it was a girl I started to cry. I don't know why. I don't care if it's a boy or a girl...just want it to be healthy.

Now that we know it's a GIRL we get to go SHOPPING!!!!

Santa

Santa is a BIG hit in our house. Nate loves stories, songs, pictures, and even says, "Ho! Ho!" However, Santa is not allowed to come close to Skatey. So, this year I think it's safe to say that we will not get that cute little picture of Skatey on Santa's lap. I don't even know if I should try. I don't want my son to stop the whole mall with his tears and screams.

This past weekend was Christmas on Euclid and a Christmas skate party. We saw Santa at both events. At Christmas on Euclid the first thing we did was see Santa. Nate became a Koala bear and started fussing and kind of crying. I quickly turned around and went the opposite way. At the skate party we saw Santa, again. He's everywhere! This time Dad took Skate Taco and sat next to Santa while holding Natey. Skatey still didn't like Santa, but this time there were tears and screams. Sorry Santa and elf.

Nate did love the Tri-tip, cars, walking around, holding Gracie and Brandon's hands, and the police officers. That's my boy! He also loved playing skiball and watching the people skate---he wanted to skate to. All I have to say for the skiball is....Man he has an arm.

Our little drummer boy

Nathan has always liked drums. When Nate was 5 months old he would sit in his bouncy seat and watch/listen to Daddy play. Here are a few pictures of our future rock star...post signature

Bully

Nathan is a very sweet, calm, and gentle boy. We were at the park today and this boy, Angel (he was no Angel), was mad because he wanted to play ball with some kids. He was crying and his Grandma was doing nothing to help him. My little Nate just happened to be next to Angel and because A was so sad, mad, and frustrated he pushed Nate down. We don't even know this kid. Poor Nate, not only did he fall on his face and knee, but he slid...there was blood and tears!!! You know what the Grandma said to her little Angel, "Angel, it's not your fault. It was an accident!" If I didn't have a kid who was bleeding and crying, I would have pushed her down. But I'm much like Nate...gentle, sweet, and calm.

Nate and I sat on a bench for a couple minutes. He was ready to go after much needed tears and cleaning up. I told him that I wouldn't let Angel hurt him again. I said, "Nate, do you want me to stay with you while you climb the stairs and go down the slide?" He said, "Yes!" But the BULLY ANGEL had other ideas.

He kept coming close to Nate and Nate would start crying. Grandma kept saying to Angel, "It's okay! It wasn't your fault! He's just overreacting!" After a few times of this Grandma, who by the way never apologized or asked how Nathan was, said to Angel and the other Grand kids..."I guess it's time for us to leave. It looks like we have overstayed."

I know there are going to be many times that this will happen in Nate's life, but I don't think it will be any easier. I felt like a UFC fighter. I was ready to rumble!!!! But that's not me...what happens to us after we have kids?---Can you picture Carrie Bradshaw pausing and looking out the window?---That's me right now.

My big boy

Nathan is officially 2!!!! We celebrated his wonderful day yesterday by treating him like we always do, like a king! Yesterday he slept in until 7:20. Wooo Hooo! Then he had eggs, bacon, and toast for breakfast...he shared some w/Ringo! We went for walks...lots of them. Watched Rush on T.V. and then he was so tired that he took a nap without lunch. When he woke up he had a feast.

All day I kept asking him, "Do you want spaghetti of pizza for dinner?" "Pizza," he would say and jump up and down. So, when Dad got home we order pizza for dinner...Good choice, Nate.

After dinner we had cake! Nate was much more interested in blowing out the Choo Choo candle. We lit the candle and sang to him about 10 times. He loved it!

After we had cake he opened presents from Mom, Dad, Baby, and Ringo!!! Cars and a trash truck! He loved his day!

I'll post pics of it tomorrow!

Update on baby #2

I went to the doctor on Wednesday and everything is going great. Strong and lovely heartbeat. I'm 13 weeks pregnant and thank goodness those 12 weeks are gone. I was sick, sick, sick!!!! Now I feel much better and just need to keep myself motivated to go for a walk at least 3 time a week. I walk with Nate everyday...he loves to go out and press the buttons to cross the crosswalk. We do this at least 2 times a day. I'm sure the traffic loves us.

I have an ultrasound appointment on 12/12/08. I'll let everyone know what the sex is as soon as I can. I'm so excited!!!

Nate's Second Halloween!

Last year was far different from this year. Last year Nate was 11 months old and a lion, he sat in the wagon and we were done after a few houses. We came back home and sat out front...he was in his pack 'n play.

This year is a whole new world for us. This year Nate is SUPERMAN!!!!! I say is because he is still wearing his costume and shoes...he won't let me take them off. This year we went out 3 times...I think #4 is coming!

1st time: We took the wagon to give our friends special treats, 2nd time: Dad came home to give candy and Nate took me everywhere...walking, 3rd time: We came home and Nate wanted to sit in his stroller and cruise the neighborhood.

I had so much fun with him and I really don't want the night to end. It is so much fun to see him enjoy Halloween.

Here is the real Superman:

And below is a slideshow of Nate, aka Superman! Everyone loved his curl! What do you think?

Annual Pumpkin Patch 2008

We had lots of fun this year at the pumpkin patch! When we arrived Nathan was fast asleep, but I was able to transfer him from the truck the wagon...woo hoo! He slept in the wagon for about 45 minutes. When he woke up he was very excited and couldn't wait to get going. This year everyone was walking around and trying to sit on and find the best pumpkins. We tried to get a group picture, I think they turned out cute! After we picked our pumpkins, we went and Nate sat on a tractor. He was in heaven and didn't want to leave it. Aunt Bec told Jerry that he has to buy Nate a tractor for Christmas. I'm sure he would if we had the room for it.All in all Pumpkin Patch '08 was great...crowded, but so AWESOME!!!!

Diabetes Walk

I forgot my camera, but decided to take a picture of me at home after the walk. Man I look tired!!! The walk is 5 miles long and I had to eat a turkey sandwich during it...thanks, Aunt Bec!

It was so much fun and cold this year. Last year was very hot and Nathan decided that he wanted to be held the whole time after mile 2 marker. So for 3 miles I held him singing, "Row Row your boat". It was the only thing that kept him from crying. Nate stayed home with dad this year and I missed them so much. So no repeat of last year....wahhh!!!

All in all the walk was a BIG success and I can't believe I got to power walk 5 miles. Go me!!!

We missed those of you who couldn't be there this year. So start getting ready for next year. You have 1 whole year to plan on being there!!!!! We'll see you next year!!!

P.S. Thank you Nana for driving us out there. You are the BEST!!!! We love you!!!

The Zoo...oops! I mean the fair!

Nate and his first fun time at the fair on Wednesday. It was a HOT one and I wasn't feeling well, but we still went. Dad kept promising Nate all week long that he would see the zonkey...we saw something that looked like it, it was a donkey with a black stripe on it. Skates loved all the animals. He even got to go pet the sheep and goats. We were there 2 1/2 hours and really had a great time. By the time we left there were more people coming....good thing Nate's nap time called to us.

Hip Hip Hooray!

So I took the plunge and signed Nate up for MY GYM! He loves it! Today was our 2nd time and Nate had a blast. He loves to try the bar, the "magic" swing, and even loves to go in the ball pit. He really doesn't care for circle time, but who can blame him. Today he got to catch bubbles with all the kids, jump on the trampoline, and drum roll...................play on a toy motorcycle!

I can get Nate to do anything by telling him one of these things:
"Let's go find the motorcyle"
"Let's go find the police car siren"
"Let's go find the trash truck"

He loves everything boy!!!!! I really can't believe how much older he seems. Our big boy, skate taco, will be 2 in 1 1/2 months. It's breaking my heart.

Wish us luck...no mean people...we are taking Skates to the fair for the first time tomorrow. Daddy assures us that there's a zonkey at the fair. I don't believe it! A real live zonkey. I'm sure I'll have pics to post. So stay tuned!

Summer

Below is a slideshow of some of the pictures we took this summer. Our lil' Nate loves to read the newspaper with daddy, feed Ringo, sit and jump on his zebra, play with Papa, put sunglasses on Ringo, and so many other things!
I loved watching him this summer. He's saying so many things..."Bless you", "I love you", "Excuse me", "Please", "Thank you", and so much more. He's such a BIG boy. I can't believe in 2 more months our baby boy is going to be 2. It doesn't seem possible that 2 years ago today we were waiting for him to arrive.
I hope to get video of him talking and post it soon!
Enjoy the slideshow!

"Have you written anything lately"

I know everyone is thinking...Drew Barrymore in "Wedding Singer"...but it was my husband last night. Jerry asked me if I had "written anything lately" on the blog and I immediately thought of the "Wedding Singer". But after a sleepless night I realized that everyone is probably looking forward to a new post. And thanks to Aunt Bec this post is possible. Hip Hip Hooray for Aunt Bec!!! Aunt Bec is the one who took this gorgeous picture of Nate. We were at one of our hang-outs.....GRAZIANOS!!!!!!! Bec, Bianca, Brandon, Nate, and I took Pat there for his belated birthday present. We had lots of fun. Skate Taco, aka Nate, and Brando loved to sit in the train together. I love how they share with each other.
Summer is coming to an end and I'm becoming really sad. Not only are my sisters going back to work, but we have to say goodbye to watching Brando Tuesday-Thursday. Brando is becoming a big boy and will be starting school at St. Mark's!!! Nate and I don't know what we are going to do without him.

Victoria Gardens or Bust

In an attempt to make sure the boys have early naps and have fun. We loaded all the kids up and took them to play at the park and water at Victoria Gardens. Nate's played with the water before, but never with his cousins and his new girlfriend (and future wife) Kate. All of the kids had fun. Nate, Bianca, and Brandon were in the middle of the water without a care in the world. Little Kate sat poolside and watched. She's my kind of gal. Keep the outfit from getting wet and people watch. You go, Katie!!!
Fun for Nate ended when he fell and got another fat lip....my poor guy! He cried for a little bit, got mud and blood on me, but then he stopped. I thought he stopped crying because he wanted to go back in the H2O, but no....he wanted to go to the Thomas the Tank Engine Store.
We got everyone dressed and dried (somewhat) and we all played with the train table. It was so much fun and we are so thankful that we were able to spend this day with people we love.
